Polianytsia lies in Nadvirna district of Ivano-Frankivsk region, and the Bukovel resort stands on its land. The slopes, lifts and resort lake are right next door, and the Gorgany peaks of Khomiak and Syniak rise above the village. Skiers stay here in winter, and summer visitors come for the quiet and the mountain trails.
The Bukovel ski season starts in December and runs into spring, depending on snow. The village is busiest over New Year, Christmas and in February, so book chalets and cottages for those dates early.
Summer and early autumn are good for hiking, cycling and a walk to the Bohdan waterfall. Between seasons Polianytsia is quieter and you have more rooms to choose from.
Ukrzaliznytsia trains take you to Ivano-Frankivsk or along the mountain line to Yaremche, Tatariv or Vorokhta. From there, take a bus or taxi to the village. By car, drive from Ivano-Frankivsk through Nadvirna and Yaremche, then turn off towards Polianytsia at Tatariv. In winter, Twins Hotel & Spa, Karpatski Hotel, Eterna Hotel & Spa and Fomich Residence run a scheduled shuttle to the lifts that is included in the stay.
By the lifts. Karpatski Hotel and Twins Hotel & Spa stand next to the lifts and have restaurants, pools and a spa. The Velvet Chalet cottages hide in the forest not far from a lift; each has its own sauna, and some add a pool or a jacuzzi.

The nearest railway station is Tatariv-Bukovel, 13–14 km away, with trains from Kyiv, Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk. You can also get off at Vorokhta (about 22 km) or Yaremche and continue by bus, taxi or transfer.
Bukovel is the ski resort, and Polianytsia is the village on whose land it was built. Some hotels stand in the village itself and others closer to the resort lifts.
The season opens in early December and lasts until mid-April, depending on the weather. The busiest periods are the New Year holidays and February.
Hike to Mount Khomiak or the Syniak ridge, walk to the Bohdan waterfall or rent a bike at the bike park. The resort also has a lake with a beach, a rope park and gear rental.
Local markets sell Hutsul brynza and vurda cheeses, honey and woollen goods. Try banosh and mushroom dishes, which most restaurants serve.
